CAR PHOTOGRAPHY

WHAT IS INVOLVED ON THE DAY OF THE PHOTO SHOOT?
As soon as we have booked you in, it's time to go and find that perfect location, that best suits your Vehicle.
Arranging this can often take a couple of weeks as depending on where I choose to hold the photo shoot, I may or may not need to obtain permission from the owner or security of the building or location I choose to hold the photo shoot.
However this is something that you need not worry about as you can be confident in leaving it all to us.
Once we meet at the chosen location, we go back over the brief to make sure that where I have chosen, you are happy with the location and surroundings.
Craig works closely with his Clients and has been lucky to work with some of the world's most Prestigious Cars including Super Cars from around the World, including Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche & Lamborghini.
"I often get asked, do I get to drive the cars I photograph" The answer to that is yes as in some circumstances I am left with the car to drive to a chosen location to carry out the photo shoot.
Every photo-shoot that we cover takes around 3 hours and includes the 3 different types of Car Photography listed in this section.

RIG-SHOT PHOTOS
Rig-Shots are captured using a custom built rig that attaches to the car, using this rig it enables us to produce photographs that make the car look like it is going very fast.

CHASE-CAR PHOTOS
Chase-Car Photography involves 2 cars driving at the side of each other or one in front of the other, driving at the same speed with me harnessed into a car photographing the "Subject Car".

My Philosophy is "I do what it takes to get the shot"

I have been known to be 6" off the ground holding my camera, harnessed into my car traveling at 40MPH to get the shot.
I would not recommend doing this to anyone as this is dangerous and should not be attempted.
I do this as I have been doing this for several years now and have the best Safety Equipment to carry out this kind of Photography.
Planning this kind of shot requires a lot of planning as we have to either gain access to Private Roads or have certain Public Roads closed to gain this shot, which can be a nightmare.

People often ask me "are you not scared of falling out of the car, or dropping your camera?"
"If I felt that way I would not be able to produce the photographs I do, as I am concentrating so hard on getting the shot that it never enters my head"

STATIC PHOTOS
Producing these kind of photographs often takes lots of planning as I try and find a location that is the total opposite to where the car should be located, which makes the car stand out.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PHOTO SHOOT?
When the photo shoot is complete it's back to the office to start converting the RAW images into unique and stunning photographs.
First thing I do is to save the original RAW files onto a hard drive on my purpose built system, for safe keeping...This is done to protect me in the event of a computer crash or failure.
Once this has been done the photos are manipulated in Photoshop CS5 and are individually processed to give the absolute best colour and brightness. This is also the time when I get the chance to remove any un-wanted elements of the photographs that I have taken.

Finally I save the images in both High Resolution and Low Resolution so they are both "Print Ready" & "Web Ready".
The High Resolution Images are typically 300DPI(Dots Per Inch), and the Low Resolution Images are 72DPI in sRGB Colour-Space as this is the standard resolution required by my Clients, however if you did require me to provide you with the photographs in another format, then that is not a problem.
All photos are burned onto a Data CD, with all of the relevant information regarding the photo shoot.
